Glonatech S.A., subsidiary company of ONEX, confirming once again its leading position in the field of advanced materials science and modern technological applications of nanotechnology, participated in the 12th EXMATEC 2014, an international conference that was held on 18-20 June 2014 and hosted by the European Cultural Centre of Delphi (ECCD).
Dr. George Tsiakatouras, Production Manager and Senior Researcher of Glonatech S.A. presented a current study entitled “Synthesis of Hybrid nanocomposite material with enhanced fire retardant and mechanical properties for transport structures”.
This study focuses on advanced compound materials using Glonatech’s Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes (ONEX MW 1000), aiming to delay fire spread and increase mechanical properties of the final product.
The aforementioned materials can be used in applications in transportation, construction and electronics industries. Ongoing pilot implementations in collaboration with major industries are quite promising for future commercial use of MWCNTs in transport structures.
EXMATEC has been based on biennial meetings for 20 years, while its scope includes material fabrication, characterization and processing of compound semiconductors.
In the relaxing atmosphere of the ECCD, located next to the famous archeological site of Delphi, participants from both academic and industrial sector had the opportunity to be informed for the latest developments in the field of composite materials compound.
